ART201 Day #1 of Teaching
*It is important to note that for this lesson, I attended only one day of teaching, but did work on creating the examples and such with my partner. I happened to be sick the 2nd day I was supposed to attend*
All in all, the project spanned over 2 days, but with 2 different sets of kids. For the time frame I was present, we saw 3rd graders, 2nd graders, and 4th graders. We had to craft the lesson to be able to fit into one day, with minor extra work for students to do. Most just had to finish coloring.
The day I was present, I demo'ed for all 3 class periods while my partner, Madi Bier taught the basic premises of the lesson. Who the artist was, why we were creating what we were creating, and different fun facts and check ins.

I was so sad that I had to miss one critical day to illness, but I didn't want to risk getting the students sick. Madi even told me they were asking where I was at. I was sad and disappointed in myself after a while. However, missing the day is giving me the opportunity to do another activity with my peers and showing them a skill I've personally carried with me which has made me excited. If I could do this project with the children again, I would in a heart beat. It was fun, upbeat, and refreshing each class period. The kids listened well, gave their feedback when needed, and fueled the artist flame in themselves. It was a good, engaging project for the kids in my opinion. I just wish we had more time.
